What counts, what does not

  • Every existing debt counts in the ratio, credit card debt included (Art. 2.3).
  • Bonuses and other non-standard income are discounted or excluded if not certain (Art. 2.3).
  • Lenders also include normal household spending in their assessment (Art. 2.3).
  • End-of-service benefits cannot be used to repay (Art. 3.5).

Frequently asked questions

Does my credit card limit affect my mortgage?

Credit card debt is one of the obligations lenders must take into account (Art. 2.3), so it reduces the payment you can add.

Is my bonus counted?

Only if it is reliable; otherwise it is discounted or excluded (Art. 2.3).
